Warrior Defined

The Warrior

If there is one thing different cultures have in common, it is the roots of the warrior class. Warriors were the men and women that protected the ideals of their kinship. They were willing to protect their way of life by fighting for it, if necessary. Simply put: to love "life" enough to be willing to sacrifice your own for it.

History and countless cultures have had many definitions of "warrior," but the common thread is "Truth," "Strength," "Duty," and "Honor." All through time, there have been those who stood quietly in the background, rising up when called upon by their people to defend and to secure peace. Modern warriors include; soldiers, fire fighters, police officers, rescue workers, etc. All of our modern day heroes. It was no different in ancient times; those warriors were looked up to and respected. Why? If you have ever been rescued by one of these heroes, then you know why. It is a profound and instinctual gratitude for their willingness to "do the right thing," no matter what the cost to them. A Warrior stands up for those who cannot stand for themselves, fights for those who are helpless, and does so with temperance, restraint, and wisdom.
